At 0751 hours, units responded to a vehicle accident with one injured in the 4000 block of Howlett Hill Road. Members worked quickly to package the driver of the vehicle who had minor injuries while others assisted in removing the utility pole and guide wires from the roadway with National Grid. ...Continued |

As many of our members were getting ready for the annual installation banquet Engine 6 and Onondaga Hill Rescue Pumper 2 responded to an auto fire at 4881 Thundercloud Drive. The fire was quickly extinguished and units returned to service a short time later. ...Continued |

At 1904 hours, Taunton units were dispatched to a vehicle accident with injuries in the 2600 block of Bellevue Ave. Rescue 3 (OIC Wright) arrived 2 minutes later to find a vehicle that struck a tree with one injured. The crew quickly packaged the patient while Engine 6 secured the vehicle. Units returned to service a short time later. ...Continued |

Just after 1700 hours, Fairmount and surrounding companies responded to a reported dwelling fire in the Hinsdale Section of Fairmount. Units arrived reporting an active basement fire in a one story wood frame dwelling. Ladder 5 assumed Engine Company responsibilities and stretched a second line into the dwelling to assist Fairmount Engine 7. Crews worked quickly and had the fire under control a short time later. At 1758 hours, Howlett Hill and surrounding companies were dispatched to a reported barn fire at 5137 Corporal Welch Road. First arriving units found a large 1 story pole barn that was well involved and requested 2 additional engines bringing Taunton Engine 6 into the scene. The members of the Taunton Fire Department would like to thank Rural Metro Medical Services for awarding us a $500 EMSupport Grant which will be used to purchase new EMS equipment. The grant was established in 2010 and was designed to strengthen the overall EMS system in Central New York by awarding EMS and First Responder agencies money to purchase equipment needed. Just before 0900 hours, Onondaga Hill Rescue Pumper 2 and Taunton Rescue 3 were dispatched to a possible hazardous materials incident at Ferrante Hall on the Onondaga Community College Campus.
