Program
Taunton provides students attending Onondaga Community College and other local institutions of higher education the opportunity to train, respond to calls, and live in one of our stations. This gives students the opportunity to be apart of one of the most progressive fire departments in Onondaga County.
Both stations are less than 3 miles from the Onondaga Community College Main Campus, 15 minute commute to LeMoyne College and 10 minutes to Syracuse University.
Accomodations
- Taunton Station 2 will be exclusively utilized as livable quarters for bunk-ins.
- Bunk-ins will be provided with a bed and dresser
- Fully functional kitchen is available for use
- Laundry facilities on-site
- Bathroom and shower facilities (separate for men and women)
- All similar amenities are also available at station 1, including a recreation and fitness room
Personal Protective Equipment
All bunk-ins will be issued approved personal protective equipment for use in fire, rescue, and EMS incidents. Gear is also available for training purposes
You are responsible for the care of your PPE
You will receive department-issued uniforms for duty shifts and classes
