At 08:55 hours this morning, Taunton Ladder 5 was activated for a reported Residential Fire in the Solvay Fire District. Ladder 5 (Captain Martin), staffed in quarters, responded on dispatch, with Car 1 (Chief Phelan). Solvay units arrived on scene with smoke showing, and a possible basement fire. Ladder 5 arrived 2nd due and split crews, acting as the search company, and “opening up” interior walls to find fire extending from the basement to the first floor. While searching, the Ladder’s crew was able to successfully locate and rescue 2 dogs and 1 cat. The alarm was held at a “Signal 98” and Taunton units were in service after roughly an hour and a half.
