Mutual Aid to Fairmount
At 15:32 Taunton was alerted to respond mutual aid for a reported house fire in the Fairmount Fire Department district. Ladder 5 (FF Ovitt) responded on dispatch. Fairmount Car 3 arrived reported heavy fire from an attached garage extending into the residence, signaling a working house fire.
Ladder 5 arrived as the first due truck and was tasked with opening up for the Fairmount engine crew while deploying several egress ladders and pumping a secondary hose line. Taunton Engine 4 (Lt Duck) also responded securing a secondary water supply and manning the ladder 5 hose line extinguishing numerous hot spots.
While this incident was in progress, Taunton Rescue 1, Rescue 2 and Squad 1 handled an in district medical emergency and engine 6 relocated to station 1 to handle any further alarms. Taunton operated on scene for approximately 2.5hrs before returning to service.
