At 11:26 hours this morning, Taunton was activated for an MVC- crash detection alert, at the intersection of Onondaga BLVD & Bellevue Ave. The call was subsequently upgraded to an MVC- with injuries, with reports of one occupant trapped, and the vehicle on fire. Taunton Car 1 (Chief Phelan) responded and arrived to find 2 vehicles with heavy front end damage, and a vehicle that was on fire, but had been extinguished by a bystander. Taunton Ladder 5 (Captain Martin) and Rescue 1 (FF B. Smith) arrived simultaneously and went to work providing patient care and stabilizing the vehicles. Taunton Engine 6 (LT. Fuller) and M1 (FF. Messina) also responded. Both occupants of the vehicles were able to self-extricate, and were transported by AMR. Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office and Town of Geddes Police Dept also assisted on scene.
