At 01:03 hours this morning, Taunton units were dispatched to a Fire Alarm/Odor Investigation in the 4500 block of Onondaga BLVD. The 911 caller reported hearing the fire alarm, and smelling “some type of odor.”

Taunton Ladder 5 (FF Ovitt), Engine 4 (FF B. Smith) and Rescue 1 (Captain Martin) handled the alarm.

Units arrived, investigated, and determined the issue to be an over pressurized water heater that was creating a large amount of steam. The unit was isolated & secured and the property was turned over to maintenance.

Taunton units cleared within the hour.
